Fiona Coutts

BVM&S ISFM AdvCertFB MRCVS

Career Summary:

I graduated in 2004 from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and started working in mixed practice on the coast. I quickly realised that my interests lay in small animal work and have been working for the past 17 years in this field in the Yorkshire area. I became a JVP in 2013 and have been in the same practice ever since. I have a keen interest in feline medicine and completed my ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour during the initial COVID outbreak. I am the Mental Health First Aider in my practice and have tried to establish an open environment about mental health and my own struggles in this area. I have also trained nurse students as a clinical coach over the years which I found exceptionally rewarding. Though I am a manager I still am involved in the full day-to-day work rota as a full time vet, primarily on the medicine side.
